Not a Wyandotte as that is a single comb. Wyandottes have rose combs which would look like a little horse shoe at this age.

Not a lavender Orpington, this is a hatchery bird and that's not an available variety.

Black Australorps; Lt. Brahmas; Dark Cornish; Black and White Giants; Buff and White Orpingtons; New Hampshire, Rhode Island Reds, Barred, White, Partridge, Buff Rocks;Delaware, Sussex, Turkens; White, Silver Laced, & Columbian Wyandottes, Red Star and Black Star.

The above list is what's available per the hatchery. Honestly, my guess is something like a splash Giant, but they don't have blue Giants.

You might have to e-mail a pic to the hatchery on this one--if just doesn't fit any of the above breeds.


adding--did you get the bonus chick? That could open up a whole bunch more breeds.....

The freebie was a buff laced Polish.there were two of these bluish chicks in the box. One was dead and the other is well obviously still here..I have no idea what it could be...think maybe they threw a few splash Andalusians in the mix?

The leg color looks wrong for a Splash Andalusian...they typically have dark slate legs.

It is best to start your own thread so as not to confuse people with the prior birds on this thread.

Having said that, it looks like a Red Sexlink, however it may be a 2nd generation which means it would not be color sexed anymore.
