Anyone know what he is?

My husband picked him up from an auction with a Barred Rock hen. He is missing some tail feathers due to a roaming dog. I like him but I have no idea as to what he is.

I lied. I just went and looked and it is a Dominique hen that came with him.

He's beautiful! But don't dominiques have rose combs? Even if he is a dom mix, I would expect his comb to be more.. rosy

But maybe it is and it's just hard to tell in the pics. Is the hen purebred?
