Anyone know what kind of critter this is? And...

Yes, THW are best destroyed when ever found, and when you find one, look for more. My birds have a great time with them. They will have a rousing game of chase. The victor will shake the guts out of the worm and run around with the skin like it's a great prize.
Caterpillar not worm.......

Now I want cheese cake....:drool
You can enjoy from the 2 together! :lau
Get some Casu Marzu!

True, that. However, if I offer it and they eat it... and look for more, IMO... the birds know better than those "they say" folks. My birds also chow down rhubarb leaves, and we all KNOW how poisonous those are supposed to be. My birds have not yet figured out how to read those warning labels, so eat a lot of stuff that is on the warning list.
LOL, I'm so glad you said this!! My last flock and my new flock eat all kinds of stuff that "they" say chickens shouldn't eat. They eat green tomatoes, fried potato skins with onions. They've decimated rhubarb plants, hydrangeas. They haven't dropped dead yet, altho I think they might've gotten drunk once after a neighbor left a bottle of beer in the yard and they tipped it over and drank it. LOL

I find this, too! My goats in particular should be long dead by lily-of-the-valley and rhododendron. I try to prevent them from getting at it, but if they get loose (and they inevitably do) they get out they run straight for it! I have come to believe that it must take really large amounts (like in a pasture all day) to do real harm.

Hi everyone,

Today my wife found this big juicy caterpillar munching away at some of our cherry tomatoes. Does anyone know what kind of butterfly this will become? And... if it's the bad kind would chickens like to snack on it?View attachment 1149329

Those nasty worms eat my entire tomato crop (24 plants) in 2 days this year.. Get rid of them one way or another. Feed to the birds or kill them. And be sure to check your plants over for the next several days because they blend very good with the stalk of the plant and you can easily miss them.
Good luck!
