That's the one that I came up with too. The face/beak is shaped just like the Bobs, gotta be that wood quail, right?I raise coturnix. The bird pictured has a beak unlike those in my flock. It seems 'fatter' both side to side and top to bottom... not as slender. This bird does have what I call 'rosetta' type markings similar to some of my quail. My quail have light feet, not dark as the bird pictured. So... I did a google search and the nearest I came to a bird that seems similar to me is called a "black breasted wood quail", scientific name Odontophorus leucolaemus. I can envision that a female of this species would look much like the bird in your photograph, what do you think?
Maybe they've been transplanted to the location of the OP? That could happen. Or someone crossbred some with Bobs or something similar....Either a wood quail or a Tennessee Red quail. Not a real clear pic.
