Anyone know what this lady is?

EE are far, far, far more common and far far far more available, so as default it's usually safer to assume EE.. until proven otherwise.

There's no reason an EE couldn't turn out some birds that happen to match an A's color standard.

If she lays a clearly blue egg, you could get brave with calling her an A.. but if she lays green, olive or tan- you'd be asking for trouble by calling her an A... lol

She's pretty by the way.

Whatever she is, she is cute. If she is a rooster, Ace might not care. Do roosters mount other roosters? I do not know.

Thank you all for great replies!

I'll definitely be looking at egg color (if she ever starts laying, that is). At my MIL's house, the layers like Mama are laying greenish eggs (I think). So, unless Mama lays blue, I'll go with EE...to be safe. :)

I'm not sure if roos mount other roos, but I do have a Crested Polish roo, Rockstar (started crowing about a month ago) and Ace does not mount him like he's mating. He chases him and is kind of mean to Rockstar (in fact we had a whole three days worth of chicken-drama (our first) because of it) but there isn't anything that goes on that resembles mating.

Again, thank you all for such great answers! :)

I agree. (That's a good way of explaining it by the way

Glad we could help.

They're looking a little green here on my monitor, but I assure you, they're blue. I'm still not sure whether I can/will call her an Ameraucana, but I am A) super happy to see her laying and B) excited that they're blue eggs.
