Blue Splash Maran Rooster and Golden Lace Wyandotte hens is what these came from.

I got a rooster and hen out of them. They are about 3 months old. They are very mild mannered like my Blue Splash. They are much larger than the Golden Lace that were hatched with them. I am going to incubate their eggs to get more of them. I will have to build them a separate pen so I can keep the hen from getting with the Blue Splash or Golden Lace roosters I have.

My granddaughter names our hens after Disney princesses. I suppose you could have Phillip and Aurora, Eric and Ariel, Adam and Belle, Aladdin and Jasmine, etc. Just thinking our loud, too. :o)

He lacks the shank feathering of a marans and he is blue instead of black and should not have the brown on his chest/ underside. But they should be some nice sized birds once they are done filling out, considering the two breeds they are mixed with. Did you decide on names? Good luck with them.

Well I gave the rooster to a local guy who takes roosters. He has a sign at the feed store. I have given him 4 roosters now. This one killed my Blue Splash Maran rooster that was his father. I have the young blue splash roo now and all the others are gone. I am going to incubate the Blue Splash in about a month. They take 7 months to lay eggs. After a run of Blue Splash I'm going to incubate the Golden Lace that are fertilized by the blue splash. The cross breed hen lays peculiar eggs. They vary in color from a somewhat dark egg like a maran to a light brown egg with just a few spots and many variations between. She laid eggs in 6 months. If I time the incubation right they'll all lay around October.
