Anyone know where I can buy pearl guinea hens?

Hello there everyone,

I'm new to guineas, I mostly own and hatch chickens, but I have a problem. About two years ago or so, my mother bought two blue pearl guineas. Since they aren't like chickens, we didn't know how to sex them, and always thought we had bought a pair. Well, I recently learned how to use the voice to tell and I'm pretty afraid that they are both boys. They always make the chi-chi sound, and I have never once heard the buck-wheat sound. Now this leaves a problem, as the two males bully my other roosters, and try to mate with my hens.

So does anyone know a place near Wellington Fl, that has two guinea hens for sale? I would really like to protect my flock, and make my boys happy. Pearls would be nice, as my mom loves their color.

Here's some pics of the boys:

That color/variety is called Lavender.

Check out these breeders lists, Click Here and Click Here . You may be able to locate a couple Lavender Hens in your area, or close to your area. Also check your local craigslist online for your area and surrounding areas. You may be able to contact a breeder that you see on there that's selling keets or older birds to see if they have any Lavender Hens they want to part with. You can also post a wanted ad there if you don't see any Guineas/breeders listed. Check the bulletin boards at your local feed and farm stores too, or even post wanted flyers there as well.

Best of luck.

Thank you.

It's funny, I was just reading one of your threads about hatching keets. Seems like your a hatch-a-holic like myself. Last year I'd had to have hatched out probably 3000 chicks or so and sold all but maybe ten of them. I wouldn't mind some guineas as they are great "watch-dogs".

I'll go and check to see if there is anyone near here with some, as I wouldn't mind if my rooster can get back to their job with the hens and the guineas can stop beating them up.

OMG 3000 chicks, lol...

Yah, lol... I am a hatch-o-holic, but I can't even imagine dealing with 3000 keets in a season!!!

It's the most fun when they're all in one room running all over you. When I first hatched them and took them outside, they liked to follow me around everywhere. Just picture yourself being chased by 3000 chicks lol!
