Anyone know where I can get Cheap/ Free fertile eggs?

Well Im having trouble with my hatch procuction with my broodies, so I posted about getting a bator on a few different sites.

Ive posted before that I am going to start a little business type thing so that I can keep all my duck and make some money selling some of the babies.

At first I thought this would be a great idea, seeing as my buff loves to go broody. But then her babies hatched today and I had two dead and two bad eggs in the bunch. Only seven hatched. Plus ive been having to remove bad eggs from the nests. And 9 eggs vanished from my magpies nest. *sigh*


anywho, anyone know where I might be able to get cheap / free fertile duck eggs? Breed doesnt matter, but once I get a bator Im going to need something to put in it.

Ill let you know when I get that pesky bator. You are awesome! I used to have a blue swed drake - the SWEETEST boy ever.

Are rouens tempermental like mallards? I dont like mallards - too aggressive for my flock.

I got offered a bator today for $75. I have to convice my dad ( mom already in the bucket lol ) and once I get it set up Ill be in business!

Question : when I get my bator do I let it run a few days to make sure its working? Should I place in fake eggs to make sure the turner is working? Is it alright to go ahead and place the eggs that I get from the lovely BYCers in the bator?


If I recieve my eggs at different times - do I wait and place them all in at the same time or place the 12 I recieved tuesday in and then when I recieve the other twelve thursday I place those in - giving me two different dates?

What do I do with the fertile eggs when im waiting? For instance if I collect from my own girls but only get three a day, do I wait till I have a few more or place those straight in?

Well im getting the bator - not sure when it will arrive since the BYCer isnt on at the moment. Thank you so much for your help!

Once I get it, and have it up and running for a few days, Ill make a post on here about wanting eggs. Ive got your wonderous offer as well as two others have offeredme eggs.

That would be GREAT! What breed is Bungie? Im still waiting for My BYCer to log on so I can get some info on whereto send her payment to. THis is so thrilling! I tried making my own Incubator once..... I failed miserably. Now I has a real Batorers!!!
