Anyone know why my chick is doing this?

My Dark Brahma is very very tame and loves to sleep in my lap/arms. I noticed yesterday that whenever I pet her ears she yawns. Is this her shaking off a tickle like a dog would shake to re-adjust their collar?

Could be adjusting the crop.......or pushed too hard against your arm and 'choked' herself.
