Is it okay to leave 4 babies that are 2 months 2 weeks in the coop at night, with no heat lamp? The low for tonight is gonna be 43 degrees.

Hmm well.. considering their age it's just about when I kick ours out into the coop but that is during the summer, lol. Where 43 isn't THAT cold I would say yes if you MUST but if you do have a heat lamp, use it or if you can keep them in for a few more days so you can get one. But if it is necessary then yes.

I wish I knew what the age was that they didnt need a heat lamp anymore, I have one that I need to Kick out of the Baby Coop and Free the room for my new babies, he is almost 2 mths old now, and has all the feathers. But we still have a heating lamp on him. What age do they Graduate from the Light?

I keep a lamp on at night for their first couple of months. If it is going to be really cold out then I will put a heat lamp on them for the first 3 months. I have it set up on one side of the coop so they can get under it if they want and they will find their comfort zone. Some will lay under the lamp and others won't. They all don't develop at the same rate even though they may be from the same hatch.

Before putting out in coop without heatlamp i always have a week indoors with no light on day and night let them get used to it

I have my 9 week old baby cochins out in the coop with no heat lamp, they are doing fine, they go out to the run and mingle around then go back in the coop, It is 32* and we have snow/rain mix going on right now. They know to go back in the coop and I haven't heard them crying yet. I think they just bulk on the feathering if it is cold. I am watching my Silkie and Mille I put outside yesterday. They were living the life of luxury in the storage room with 65*. But the Silkie started crowing and I couldn't see having them inside all winter. So out they went and I will watch them. Good Luck. (like I was thinking I can always bring back in if need be.)

Oops I just read what I wrote. Looks like I had a brain toot while typing.
