anyone near RI have a day old?

I just hatched a singleton with a broody. Someone local has a day old but wants too much for the chick $10. Its a breed I have no interest in and will rehome within a month. I was hoping more like $5. Unless its a sultan or black cochin, then I might pay more.

I might. We get our Ideal order around friday (hatch date tuesday/wednesday). Ordered 25 chicks and we're selling 6 right off the bat. If 1) they put an extra in there or 2) the guy buying the 6 doesn't show, we'll have extras. Let me know if you're interested (by then, they'll be about 4 days apart I guess) and if so I'll update when we get them.

That sounds great. Will they be bantams? What breeds will you be getting?

Wow another Tauntonite. Born and raised? We've only lived in Taunton for about 4 years - I work in Newport and DH works in Lexington, so it's a halfway point

We're first-timers! We've ordered:

5 EE's
2 BO's
2 BR's
2 Partridge Cochins
2 white silkies
2 grey silkies
2 columbian wyandottes
1 golden campine
1 RIR

and 6 SLW for a guy nearby. i didn't want roos added for warmth, so we brought the pullet order up to 25 (well, the silkies are straight run).

I'm worried about everyone arriving safely in this cold weather but the Taunton PO seems to have it down as for what to do. I'm thinking they'll arrive Friday morning and we'll get a call around 6 AM...I'll update here whether they added extras or whatnot. Hopefully no DOA but you never know...

Updating - so sorry, but we lost 4 so far out of the 25 and have to give 4 of the silver laced to a guy that ordered them, so we have no extras. We are also looking for a RIR, white silkies and columbian wyandottes to replace what died

So far, not enough for a whole new order, but I will update on Monday bc more may die I guess (hopefully not).
