Anyone order from Murry McMurry? Would like to hear from you

Thanks for the response! Just curious are they friendly or are they skidish since you didn't raise them from chicks? I ask because I have kids and I know they will want to handle them a little bit and everything I've read has said to handle the chicks when they are very young to get them used to it. I just wondered if it would be too late if they are already pullets. Thanks!

Mine are friendly. Especially 1 hen. She lives with the goats with another hen. The other's beat them up. But I love them. The only problem I have is my Minorca. He hates my DH and my DH hates him. Don't know why but they do.

I laugh at it. He bit my DH in the butt one day. Now he does not come out when DH is home.

I carry him around.

Oh my gosh, that's hysterical, you gave me my laugh for the day - definitely not good! Thanks for the info on the pullets, I think we may start with a couple red stars pullets and see where that takes us. Maybe once we get into this chicken thing we'll do baby chicks when we add more. It seems from BYC that everyone ends up with a WHOLE bunch more than what they start out with:D

Almost forgot, there was a lot of discussion about the beak being trimmed on this thread, was that an issue?

My mom has ordered from Murray McMurray quite a few times in the past and the breeds she ordered seemed just fine, never any problem. I ordered from them once, a giant breed...they didn't turn out very 'giant' at all after 2 and a half years. I was a bit disappointed. None of the birds my mom or I ever got had their beaks trimmed or anything like that.

Overall, Murray, in *MY* opinion, is 'okay'. Not great, just 'okay'.
