Anyone ordered from Dirtworks?

I ordered a 5lb bag of DE with a dispenser almost three weeks ago. The total cost was $36. Well, I received a package yesterday and the only thing it contained was the plastic dispenser. I was fuming! I looked on the FedX tracking site to make sure there was only one package shipped and there was. Both were supposed to be shipped in the same box. There are closed on the weekends so I'll have to wait until Monday. I did call though and left a REALLY nasty message. Has anyone else had a problem from them? I'm not bashing them, but I don't know if I'll order anything else from them again!

I ordered some DE, from Garden works - I bought the powder bottle and stuff from Dirtworks - not yet received!
I only ordered it at the beginning of the week, I'm expecting it next week at the latest!

Whoah! $36??!! I tried looking at their site to see what package you would have ordered but couldn't find the dispenser and de combo. Was it the Fossil Shell Flour which is the food grade form?

Do you have a local feedstore that would be willing to order it for you? I got mine from my feedstore for $5 for a 3lb pack.

I am not sure, but I would be VERY disgusted with that type of service and price. 3 weeks is too long, and considering that a 50lb bag only costs my feedstore $35 total, I would say they are seriously price-jacking. Definitely get ahold of them on Monday, but play the game and be sweet as pie if you really want some answers from them. After you get your answers...well....

Yes, it was the food grade. I will definitely call on Monday (don't know if I'll be sweet or not)

and I'm going to my feed store today so I'll ask if they can order it for me. Boy, am I a dufus or what?

No, your not a duffus. I have a very good relationship with my feedstore and I had to educate the owner on the benefits of DE. He was very interested when I told him the details. He said he could order me the 50 pounder, but I didn't have the $35 for the whole bag at the time. When he got it in, he divided it up and it sold like hotcakes! By the time I got over there (the day it came in) there were only 3 of the 3lb bags left.

Wow, that's great. They guy that owns the feed store where I go is a really nice guy. I don't think he'll have a problem ordering it for me.

I found DE at the local feed store for $20 for 50 pounds!! (after I had already ordered on line!)

I went to the feed store today and he told me he used to carry DE, it was the "big thing" a while back and people stopped buying it. I didn't ask why. Anyway, he said he would call his vendor and would give me a call. I think I'm going to order it online from someone else.

I only need a 50# bag of DE about once a year. I talked to my feed store guy and he was clueless and not interested. Fast forward 6 months. I'm in there one day when the feed supplier was there and she knew all about it, yes they carry it, and so I ordered some. The store still doesn't carry it but when I needed some this year I called, they ordered it, and I got 50# for $28. Perhaps you could make similar arrangements with your feed store. That when you need some they'll order it for you.
