Anyone own a miniature horse?

Well I think you are doing a fine job doing what you are doing! I am a firm believer in what is meant to be will be....

Don't get in a big hurry, take your time and the right mini will come along. If it is meant to be, you will get your mini. Here is our sweetie, she is Registered, broke to drive, broke for leadline, my daughter shows her in halter. She has even been shown by a Special Needs child in halter class and placed. We use her for our petting zoo for 4-H and church.

We love our minis and they are so very gentle with children ---
super little horses -- they love being brushed and led around with a child on their back -- plump little 'My Little Pony' types -- long manes and tails -- a little girl's dream come true!

the 'trick' is to get an older one that has been around kids and handled a lot --- mares and geldings are sweet and fun to have --

Two of ours are in their twenties and are happy, sweet guys --
they seem to get even cuter and sweeter as they get to be 'golden oldies' ---

Horses like to have a buddy -- dog, cat, goat, chicken, etc.

Check around and get that girl a 'mini!'

My input on ponies is please dont think all are snobby. My first "horse" was a pony. He was onlya little bit bigger than a mini, and i could climb right up on him. He was very sweet not a mean bone in his body. Minis in my experience are more spirited than ponies and spiritedness can get kids and even adults hurt *experience* LOL! Snobby ponies are ones that have been allowed to get their own way, which is easy with novice horse owners to let happen. I've been around mostly only horse savvy people and in turn have mostly only met ponies that would bend over backward to do what you ask them to do, plus they live almost forever

LOL! The first pony i ever rode on is still alive and he's 35...i'd consider that "forever' hehe.
