I just read a post by nettie about how she had her runner ducks on a leash. now, ive heard about chicken saddles and rat leashes and harnesses for rabbits - but duck leashes?!
Anyone have experience enough with these to
a) post me a picture w/ your duck modeling
b) recommend me getting one?

I guess I should actually say harness, as you can just attatch a leash to it.

With the diaper harnessess, can you remove the back part that catches their droppings or is it on for good?

LOL My mother-in-law told me that she knew someone once who would take their ducks to other people's gardens for de-slugging purposes and had them on leashes. Sorry, no photos. This was probably quite a few years ago. LOL

Hmmm . . . start doing some product development. Maybe you could sell them, if you get them just right?

Possibly, but I think id rather just buy one for now, see how it fits and such. I might see if my grandma can sew me one if tis a simple harness system.

Just use a small dog leash...like ones they make for Yorkies. For the harness part...they make cat harnesses...that might fit.

Yeah, I think a cat harness would be more humane, because it would distribute the tension better. Good luck. Oh, and post a photo of what you get together!

Welp, my duckie has a diaper harness, and a leash attatches to it (any kind of leash I guess). And we are planning to get him a dog harness so he doesnt have to wear diapers outside, cuz that's not fair.
But the only problem is, is that he is deathly afraid of the leash. I'm not sure how to make him accept it

I need to get that figured out so when we go on trips and stuff, poor guy can't sit at home by his self

Maybe that will work

Im planning on isolating a duckling from the next hatch, giving it one on one treatment. They seem to be closer to you that way, and I want to harness train it now that ive put some thought into it.

So any cat harness? It fits around the wings and such with out rubbing?
