Anyone proud of a grade at school or an accomplishment at work?

Good Job!

Im pretty happy to be getting a 96.7 in English! I've got 3 weeks left, and we'll see what my final grade is! 85 in Health isnt too bad either.

I have nothing to brag on for me....I am a housewife....but my kids are another story.

They are 4 weeks into this 9 week grading period. My 11 y/o reads at an end of 12th grade level and has 648% of his 9 week reading goal. My 8 y/o reads at a mid 7th grade level and has 273% of his 9 week goal...and they have his goal set 50% higher than anyone else in his class. My 7 y/o....oh yeah, we aren't talking about my 7 y/o....

(and yes, he is JUST as capable as both older brothers)

Being a housewife, carrying that load largely by yourself (in fact, isn't your husband away in the military, so you ARE carrying the load yourself?), is a great and HUGE accomplishment in and of itself!

I just have to brag on my DD a bit. She entered the Lions Club's worldwide "Peace Poster" contest at her school and got 2nd place! She did the earth in the shape of a heart with a background of beautiful white wings.

She also did a model of a Sphinx for her Egypt project, got an A+ and teacher wants to keep it as a sample for next year.

She's been chosen to be a peer mediator at her school, she's working on the last bit of work to earn her Bronze Award for Girl Scouts, AND, she's only 11 (12 in January) and in 6th grade.

Pretty cool, huh??

hehe. I like this thread. OK, I've been taking Horticulture classes at my local JC. Been getting straight A's from the get go!

Also, DD (9) is a little academic star! She's in a GATE class and is at the top of her game! So proud!

Thanks for the positive comments!

I've done the traditional college thing. I have a degree in ciminal justice. I'm now going for a degree in elementary education. College is a whole different ball game with two jobs, a husband, a house, and our crazy bunch of animals. It's a juggling act. We don't have kids yet but they're in our immediate plans as well. Am I crazy or what?

Do you mind saying which university? My daughter is looking for an online degree program since she's got her little one around. I proctor exams for UMUC Distance...but she doesn't want to use them for whatever reason. I've taken the UMUC classes and they do a really good job of online courses.
