There are 2 different African geese. There are the standard of perfection geese "African Dewlap" Then the African production geese who by the way are still African but have had allot of traits bred out of them for more eggs and faster growth. Both are to be without keel from what I understand.
APA The standard of perfection says
African, without keel
Chinese Well rounded breast carried well upward.
Taulouse with keel
Sebastopol without
Pilgrim, American Buff, ect. well rounded breast no mention of keel
The only mention of one who needs to have a keel that I can find is the Taulouse.
So I looked up the Toulouse on the British waterfowl ass website it said
blocky body, with a prominent keel on the breast, (I assume that means a keel bone)
Africans stand much taller and carry much higher.
Sorry waiting for the sun to come up so this gave me something to do. But I will have to post this on APA facebook group and see if I judge can tell me. If its no fat or no bone.
