Hi - I'd like to buy three female runner baby ducklings this spring, preferably only a few days old, and I would prefer to pick them up so they don't have to be shipped. I live in the Portland area but am willing to drive to rural areas to pick them up. I don't care what color, just want healthy female runner ducklings.

Thank you!

I think Cetawin is in your neighborhood. Not sure if she has runners, but she does have Welsh Harlequins. I have both and both are champion egg layers.

Thank you so much for the help! I called Curtis, he was really nice and will have some for me in March. Thanks again! This forum is wonderful - have been doing a lot of research on this forum in prep for my ducks.

Quick update - I got three awesome runner ducks from Curtis at C&L farms. He was so nice and helpful and the ducks are doing great. Thanks again for the recommendation!

Where is a picture of the new ducks???

I am sooo jealous! You are very fortunate to have a great feed store that worked with you so well! I have not had such luck up here in my area. You definitely have to get some pictures up soon! I want to drool over your babies while I keep searching for some up here! I checked to see how far it is to the feed store down there from my house but a 6-7 hour drive is a bit far for me.

Good Luck with your runners!

Here they are! They were hatched Monday and I got them Thursday.

I work from home so I get to be around them all day, which is great, and have been changing their towels and paper towels about 5 times a day.

I am feeding them duck starter food - does anyone know when I need to add extra niacin in the form of brewer's yeast or some other form?

They don't seem to like grass clippings, anything else I should feed them? Should I catch little bugs for them to eat?

Their names are Echo, Anaso, and I don't know the last one's name yet.

Echo, Anaso and Donno? (Don't know...get it?

If you have specific duck feed you shouldn't have to worry about the brewer's yeast. It is usually those of us that can only get chicken food or game bird feed that have to worry about supplementing.
