Anyone setting eggs starting July 15 -July 22?

Lucky1- what does her crop feel like? Hard, soft, empty...? Does her breath stink? I had a similar incident and it was sour crop with an obstruction. Good to confirm or nix that one off the top.

her crop is normal, soft-ish.

Could be dehydration.

Try giving her some electrolytes. If she won't drink on her own, get a syringe and put small beads of water on her beak, don't force feed it or you could drown her. She should drink the water drops on her beak though.

If she's not sneezing or coughing, it very well could be dehydration.

I gave her a sip of water from her bowl and she downed a couple sips before refusing it again, and i unfortunately don't have electroytes on me and the feed store is closed until the morning, will she be ok until then?

maybe when you let them out she ate a bad weed. mine have gotten sick after eating chickweed before

What do you do if she did? I have thistles, golden rod, ferns, and weedy grass etc around the coop.

Wish mine were being that determined. Had one pip yesterday and it has only zipped in the last few hours; roughly 26 hrs after it pipped. No hurry there.

Ok....got my 6th hatchling....but have no clue what it is!!
Black with Lil yellow specks/tips!!....Musta got Daddy's genes...Don't know what he is.
Traded a puppy for him from a sweet old lady in Florida...but he is GORGEOUS!!
5 more to go....1 due today....2 due tomorrow....& 2 due on Thrusday!!
Can't believe how much fun & exciting it is...Yup, I'm hooked!!
Even got 14 eggs from my girls & 5 more from my landlord so far...
to put in the incubator!!!....Cluck Cluck!!

Update: Still one pip, no other activity.

As a side note, I'm very excited. I have 9 chickens who are all 6 months and younger.
I went into their coop like, 15 min. ago, and my silkie Arwen laid her first egg!!!!
She is barely 6 months, I was shocked!! This is my first chicken egg you guys, I've never had chickens before them!
I hatched Arwen from an egg, so it was so cool to see her lay her first

Lucky1, maybe you should separate those new chicks too...

They are seperate from the others, they would be squashed otherwise, they are in a dog cage (at night) inside the coop away from where the other chickens go. During the day they have an outside private run.
