I know right!
I will be putting mine on lockdown Sunday when we go to bed. I always broadcast my hatch with my webcam so I can watch from work. My kids always show them off in their classrooms too. They are quite popular for them, and last year my oldest sons teacher gave him extra credit because he explained the whole incubation process and what happens in the eggs to his class.

Congrats to all the hatchers. I hope for one or two Tuesday evening, but I expect most on Wednesday.

Oh...one more thing...

***flip*** tails. So according to that I'm getting hens... but I'm famous for hatching roos.

And look what I woke up to:

The chick that had pipped last night arrived!!! We also have 2 more pips!!!

Ok so I guess I'm nesting like i did when I was pregnant only im getting a coop ready instead of a baby room. so I decided to occupy my time while waiting for my eggs to hatch, and paint my plain old chicken house. Im not finished yet but I will add more pics as I go along.

I flipped the coin and got tails!! hopefully many more hens than roos for me.

about the dog, I got a dog from a friend when he was a puppy. the dog came from a malteepoo mommy and daddy. on day one he saw the chickens, they were out freeranging and he chased them. he caught four or five of them and definitely scared all of them, but only got a mouth full of feathers and got himself full of mud. fast forward a few months and now we go into the chicken run together and he is totally uninterested, same thing when they're out.

I Love It!!! I think I did the nesting thing setting up my brooder. My 24 year old son bought a house and moved out in June and that is when the hatching bug bit me. I looked at incubators and decided I wanted to build my own. Years ago I used an extra large dog crate in the garage as my brooder. This time around I set up an old 50 gallon aquarium in my son's room.
