I have been doing everything in my power to try to find what I am looking for, and nobody has it..I have went to the library to find books on coops, online, friends and family with no such luck...I am trying to build a coop for 6 golden comets....Some say I am trying to build the cadillac of all coops but what I want is what the chickens need....

Roost
Automatic feeder
need 2 nest box's
ventalation
windows
cleaning doors
portable would be a plus!! but can be a permenant location.
runner, can be attached or not to coop

I already have shingles, chicken wire and vinyl flooring, just need to purchase wood which I know has to be NOT treated....and a chicken coop plan....If anyone has a plan they would be willing to share, please let me know,,,I am desperate....They are 4 weeks old now and I gotta get started!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

Well if you know what you want and what the chickens need got buy the supplies and build it or do you want specifc plans so you measure it exactly if so look for shed building books they will teach you all that you need to know as far as roofs and stuff go I built mine and never once looked at a coop plan and my girls love it plenty of room for them and lots of roost space.

Good luck to you I hope you find what oyu are looking for.

ETA: Check out the coop page here on BYC you may find one you like then Pm the owner for the plans.

You can always do what my hubby did and "wing it". Our coop came out great.

You don't need to have the nesting area or lighting completed right away in order for them to move to the coop. We finished those aspects later.

If you have the choice at this point, I'd make the thing portable. We opted for the stationary set up and are having a lot of trouble keeping the run area clean and not mucky. If we could move it periodically this would be much nicer for the chickens and that is about the only thing I would change.

By the way, there are lots of discussions here about the pros and cons (mostly cons) of using chicken wire. Just do a search here and you'll see. And modern pressure treated wood is safe for chickens; I used it in my coop and run for anything that will be in contact with the ground. I wouldn't use it for a roost, however.
