Anyone starting eggs today (6/26)? Hatching July 17/18

Well, the eggs just got here from Bargain! They're in great condition, the newly built incubator seems to be cooperating. Now lets hope I don't screw it up

I purchased some eggs from Bargain as well. They arrived today. the packing was great, not a single crack or broken egg.
I will let them sit until tomorrow, then they go in. Fingers crossed I get a good hatch.

Good luck with yours. What kind did you get?
Mine are 6 BCM and 6 Speckled Sussex.

I got 4 Easter Eggers, 3 Barred Rock, and 3 Speckled Sussex.

This is my first hatch, have you done this before?

Yeah, I have, but only with my own eggs, and I have had good and bad hatches.
I screwed up my last hatch and had the humidity all wrong. So Bargain was so nice to ship a second batch for me to try again.
I know it was my doing that they didn't hatch, because most of them were developing very well. They just didn't hatch.
So, I try again with better equipment, hopefully I will get the humidity in the last 3 days right.

Candling Update!

Ok, as of day 7 I have two BR that are showing definite veins, another that is clear, 1 SS with veins, 2 that are clear, and 3 of 4 EE are showing veins, I think the 4th one may have a blood ring but I'm reserving judgement on all of them until at least day 14.

I'm just happy any of them are making progress! I didn't realize how nerve wracking and consuming this is...

Yeah, I had trouble stablizing my temp after the eggs were put in. It was fine for a day and a half before they went in.

Anyway, its fine now. Temps and humidity good.
I won't candle them until Sunday, that is 8 days. And I don't expect to be able to see anything in the BCM eggs, just too dark.

I have to be pretty diligent to keep my temps stable. That's the main reason I'm so thrilled to have anything showing progress.

Is there a particular reason you wait until day 8 to candle?

and even if you can't candle the BCMs they sure are nice to look at.
