I'm in PA, zone 5. My coturnix quail are housed in a rabbit hutch outdoors, natural light only. All born last summer and laying in the fall. I feed gamebird crumble.
Is anyone else still waiting for eggs? This is the first group i've overwintered. All the chickens, ducks and geese have been laying for a couple of weeks. Any ideas?

This hasn't happened to me yet, but one of my friends have some chickens that still aren't laying. Maybe they aren't getting enough protein? I'm not sure.:idunno:hmm

My quail are probably slightly younger than yours, also housed outdoors, and I have not gotten any quail eggs. We are at about 11 hours of sun a day right now. My chickens just started laying about 3 weeks ago, not all of them are laying yet though. And I haven't gotten any duck eggs either. I think the oddly warm winter has me anxious and thinking they should be laying now but it's still pretty early in the year.

Thanks everyone. I was thinking it was just me :) The warm weather is making me impatient plus the fact that I have a lady willing to trade me fertile Welsh Harlequin eggs for quail eggs. I really want those duck eggs. Lol.
