Anyone up for a Hatchalong?

Wow yinepu, G3 is pretty interesting & different looking. I saw emu eggs for sale on eBay from TX but can't remember what city, I'll see if they're still on there. They may be close enough for you to pick up or shipping would better in state. I read so
Where they can be viable up to 19 days so I'd say there's a pretty good chance they'll develop. So how many eggs total have you had this year? You're one lucky chick lol!

this makes 19 eggs for me....... so far.. lol

G3 is really interesting.. hopefully they all hatch.. but if not it will be interesting to see how they do with weight loss and what I have to do to make sure they stay on track

Are they wiggling or chirping. If there is no movement, then the eggs may be duds.

they are doing nothing

what should I do to check if they are duds or wait a few more days

Pollitollito- I do hope that the eggs are not duds.

Yinepu- Congrats on the score!

I had set my eggs yesterday at 4 pm, that is over 24 hours since the eggs came in the mail.

I had borrowed a digital scale from a neighbor, it does lb, oz, and grams!

Egg D- 604 grams

Egg E- 630 grams

How often should I turn the eggs? I have been turning them about 4 hours apart.

I think I will have the most beautifull carved eggs in the world

As im thinking all my eggs are duds, lets wait a couple of days!!!

I've been blowing out all the dud shells for the same reason.. carved eggs will be in our futures!

For your eggs.. were they all shipped? Can you find anyone with local eggs?

I'm beginning to think that shipping may be what has caused all of yours to be duds.. since you're in Puerto Rico I am assuming they would have been sent by plane.. and if the cargo hold wasn't pressurized it could have been enough to scramble them

I turn mine 5 times a day... I don't think male emus keep track of how many times they turn their eggs

Thanks. I saw your Emu hatch page, and saw that you had set your freebie eggs the same day I did with mine. I am glad that I have someone to hatchalong with! I had copied your weighing dates on my calender. Thanks for posting that. :)

Well..... I am going to try again. I called the lady that gave the first two emu eggs to my husband. She has five more she says she will bring to me today (for free). I guess she doesn't know people pay for them. Not telling her that though. It was a funny conversation. I told her the Emus almost made it but died right before hatching. She said, "They were fertile?" I said, "Yes". She thought she had 3 girls. She was told that as well by 'someone'. I told her the male incubates the eggs. She says, "Oh, I guess that is why he was upset when I took the eggs". She has five now that are about two weeks old.

I will keep you guys posted on the happenings here in SC. I am so tickled I found this thread. It will be much more fun this time and I feel I am more 'experienced'.... NOT!
