Anyone up for a Hatchalong?

Are they wiggling or chirping. If there is no movement, then the eggs may be duds.
DUDS, nothinggg! just ordered 6 more eggs!!!! lets see, I got home my sportsman cabinet incubator , I got these long time ago but it was at my exhusbands house< just got it today back, I will put those there as I was triyng to incubate on my old LG,,,, lets see!!!!

I've been blowing out all the dud shells for the same reason.. carved eggs will be in our futures!

For your eggs.. were they all shipped? Can you find anyone with local eggs?

I'm beginning to think that shipping may be what has caused all of yours to be duds.. since you're in Puerto Rico I am assuming they would have been sent by plane.. and if the cargo hold wasn't pressurized it could have been enough to scramble them
Well locAlly I have a guy that sells emus, but he ask almost 300$ for a baby, and eggs uf 50 for each! , but here are a lots of people that has emus but do not sells them... , I have ordered a lot of chickens and phaesant eggs and all has hatched for me. Even eggs from malasia once, but with emus no luck !. I ordered 6y more eggs to see if I have luck now. I still has 2 more eggs on day 34... so lets see!!! I let you all know!!!

Sorry he didn't make it... you did the best you could do for him
that's why I didn't want to give you any false hope.. I always expect the worst then hope for the best.. that way if the worst does happen I'm prepared.. and if my hopes happen to come true then I'm pleasantly pleased..
Just try to remember him with fondness and know that you gave him what love you could for the short time he was with you.. then concentrate on the live chicks you have .. it's the best you can do in a sad situation

Polli, if it were me I'd drill for sure. I plan on putting a little hole in my eggs on day 49 anyway for oxygen since my bator makes me nervous where it's so airtight. I don't know much about the water test except for floating eggs mean a chick usually & sinking eggs are duds...I'm not sure how accurate it is. I really hope you end up with a chick...if I had an extra chick hatch I'd honestly send it to you if possible! Did you get your 6 eggs from the same place? I think Yinepu is on to something with shipping damage attributing to your eggs not hatching since you're so far away, I won't even order shipping eggs from someone who is more than like 10 hours from me. From what I've been told as well as through experience, the larger the eggs the more prone they are to damage since that's that much more liquid to slosh around so Emu eggs I would think are even riskier, although I've seen a lot of success with them on here...maybe the distance they traveled helped. I would have them shipped in as many shipments as possible & if from the same person even different times of the day, that could give you that much more of a chance on getting an egg that develops :)

Looks like I'll just be having one little chick from my eggs.:(

We had a power outage and the other two eggs that were wiggling have since stopped. It breaks my heart, but at least i got one little guy/gal out of the whole ordeal.

I may order more, but not for a little bit.

the door may close too tightly for much air to pass through the airline tube (I had considered the exact same thing).. if you bought yours with turners the notches would already be there.. since I bought mine without turners there are no notches so the door makes an "air tight" seal...
check with Chris from Reptipro and see how much trouble it would be to take a dremil and carve out some notches.. lol.. then let me know what he says!
Otherwise bug your husband a few times per day to open the door for a few minutes.. I opened mine 5 times a day.. and then whenever I walked past it at night (I have insomnia.. so it was no big deal for me to open the door a few times during the night)

Thanks, I think I'm going to make a small hole in the bator to run a pump hose into. I also got one without turners & I think since it doesn't have them that it's pretty airtight. Where 1/3 of my bator is filled in it just doesn't look like much oxygen is there, especially for 4 growing emu chicks & I'd be devistated for any of them to not hatch due to carbon monoxide poisoning, something that can so easily be prevented...any thoughts on where I should put the hole?
