Anyone use a fan in their coop?

We built our coop with a bathroom fan in the ceiling so we can increase ventilation on hot summer days

I have a ventilation fan with louvers covered in wire mesh and has a temp control on it. I got it out of an old greenhouse my mom in law has

Thank you, Pat, I'll make sure it's completely secure. Never hurts to double and triple check these things! I know it's hung with telephone or electrical cables, dont remember, but they're very sturdy; Ill check where they're attached again.

I have a 20" shop fan hanging from the ceiling in a corner of the coop. It makes a big difference in the temps inside the coop. Last year without the fan it was reaching 103* inside after I installed the fan it brought the temps down to 90*. I have 4 full size windows and a screen door on the coop and it was still getting to hot inside. Once the fan was installed some of the girls would hang out inside in front of it.

I use an old window fan in mine. I have a decent sized hinged window on one wall covered on the inside with some good welded wire like they use on rabbit cage bottoms. When I put the fan in the window the chickens can not get to it. I use it to exhaust the air. It sure came in handy last summer. We had triple digit temps alot.
