Hi there, we live in Vista Ca and need advice on electric fencing? Anyone here in ca have it and how well does it work? Will it keep the chickens safe fron coyotes? When I called the company they didnt seem to think it was good unless you irrigate. Said it needs that to work. Not all our property is irrigated and it can get real dry here sometimes. We have part chain link but we have almost 4 acres and we were thinking of some electric fencing close to the coop.. Please chime in with all your thoughts and thanks ahead of time!

Make certain charger has adequate Joule rating for length of fencing. Keep soil around grounding post from getting too dry. Pouring a bucket of water periodically on it should work. Get a fence charge meter to periodically confirm fence is hot.
