I would like to test one of my hens for Mereks through blood work. Texas A&M offers a whole blood test to detect either the actual disease or could be antibodies in the blood. The test is fairly inexpensive but trying to find a vet to draw the blood may be a harder issue.
Before going through it, I wanted to know if anyone has done it themselves and if so did you find the test accurate? Will the Lab accept blood from someone other than a vet? I can get tubes from work (I work in human medicine).
