I had an experience like this, my girl Nugget I was sure was a boy because of her massive red comb at an early age, and her sisters non existing comb. All changed when she never grew any saddles.Looks like a pullet to me based on the very round feathers. I was tricked by comb size on my chicks a couple of years ago 2 sisters (australorps) one we were convinced was male because she developed so much faster and was so much bolder, and still is.
I was given 10 babies. I only kept 2. Recently the person who was given the others is having fox issues. So they asked if I wanted this last remaining one (out if 8) it looks a bit beat up. They were the only bantams in a mixed flock.They're all pullets.
