Yeah the first is a mutt and the second is a barred rock. Just don't know if I got hens or roos.

Do you know how old they are? I would say your mutt looks like a roo but more pictures would help. As for your BR, can you get different pictures with it standing so we can see the saddle and hackle feathers? It doesn't look like it has any but hard to tell with it being in your arms.

I'm leaning towards roo with the BR too. The comb is pretty red and looks like the waddles are coming in already plus the coloring looks lighter than a hen's would be. It's still pretty early to tell though. Here's a link to a group photo of BRs that shows the difference between the feather differences.

Thanks mom2jedi for refering to my photo of the BRs, and NancyP, both are definitely roos. I think tomorrow I may try to get pics of my BRs of all different ages and make a thread showing the difference in the sexes, they are easy to sex at any age.
