Anyone with Rabbits???

Oh, also I used to have a Champange d' Argent (My first rabbit) who we traded for Charlette. and we got Brownie with a Lynx Mini- Rex too- Bunnie!
The story of Charlie (The Champange d' Argent) is funny..
We put him on craigslist, and a breeder from halfway across the state came to get him since apparently his breed is 'rare'.... haha. But if you want to see more of my bunnies- www.double-yolkerfarms.weebly.com
:) Check it out :D

Oh my!!! Looking at these pics I'm not sure I can raise them for meat. They are cute!!!

I thought the same thing at first. I don't do the slaughter; himself does. I cut them up and package them. We practically live on rabbit - low fat, tasty, less cholesterol, better dress out and I don't have to eat chicken breast (which I'm not fond of) because rabbits don't have breasts!

@ total.... Thanks because we love rabbit meat.... Now I'm trying to find someone that could sell us about 6 to get started...... I know I won't be able to butcher as I have enough hard time with my chickens and butchering!!! :(

where are you located? I've got some for sale..

The best way to find rabbits to start your breeding stock is to go to the rabbit shows and local or state fairs. Talk to your local butcher who processes rabbits and ask who has some of the best rabbit. Join a local web group for rabbits and some members will have rabbits for sale and you can learn a lot about raising them.

For a very active group on the web devoted to rabbits for meat go to http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/Meatrabbits/
You won’t have to deal with pet verses the food topics.
