Recently one of my classmates from our graduating class of 1987 was sent for a tour in Afghanistan. Today on FB, he posted a link to anysoldier.com.

This website allows us as civilians to connect with a soldier on tour who does not get mail/packages or have all of their basic needs met.

A quick peek showed that some of these guys/gals would just like some deodorant and toothpaste.

The site is relatively easy to maneuver and tells you exactly what you can and cannot send and even how to get it there through the craziness of the postal system.

Thought I would give this site a plug and see if anyone in here would be interested in doing 'something' for the cause. Each soldier who requests to participate and there are 2300 names today, gives a short bio, maybe we could find some servicepersons who are BYCers at heart or miss their own home farms.

Post if you have some ideas or want to do 'something' and we can figure out the 'something' later or just check out the sight on your own and maybe make it a family project. If you do...post here and let us know so we can maybe copy your ideas.

This could be fun and we could make someone's day!

This is a great site. As family to a few soldiers and friends to even more I have to say this site is great. My lil bro is in the sand box as we speak and it is sad how many of them go without because they have no one who can send or are willing to send things to them. I have been sending care packages to my family and friends for years being a military brat. You will never get used to the extreme amount of thanks that the soldiers have for even the little things.
