Yes they are alcohol based
I really love them too, best markers I've ever colored with, but I'd like to get prisma colored pencils since they are very popular and are great with coloring.

Thought so! I have the spectrum noir brand.
About three months ago, my Wal-mart had 24 packs of prismicolor pencils for $5! I may or may not have bought 7 packs...

The reason so low is that they were re- stocking. I didn't even know they had them there. Must have been in the back for awhile
