Anything Besides Gape Worm?

Is there anything that can make a chicken gape besides gape worm? Just now I saw my chicken gape several times in a row, and I've never seen her do that before? I'm thinking she might have gapeworm. But I hear it's hard to treat, and I"m wondering whether multiple gapes could be a symptom of something else?

Heat. Not sure where you live, but it's a brutal summer for chickens here in NC. My girls are constantly standing around with their poor little mouths open and wings spread out from their bodies. Try giving her cool melon for treat & maybe the gentle breeze of a fan in the heat of the day. Make sure coop is well ventilated. Access to plenty of fresh cool water. See if this doesn't help! They sometimes make that gaping motion when they're adjusting the contents of their crop.
