Anything that will repel free-roaming chickens from my shade garden?

Where do you get a motion detector sprinkler head? I am tired of running up and down the stairs to turn the hose on and off and I am pretty sure my neighbors think I am crazy when I am throwing ice cubes at them from my balcony.
