Anything you can tell me about my SLW?

This bird is 4 weeks and 2 days old.

I guess for a hatchery bird I should not hold out any hope that she will look like this someday:

Should I have any concerns on breed or gender? She is strong, the 2nd in command of this batch of chicks.

It takes time for the white to show up. Patience is needed.

For 4 weeks, the comb has a lot of color, and the legs look thicker than expected. I’m Not sure if it’s male or female, but keep an eye on it, as well as wattle growth. around 8 weeks, you can post another pic for more feedback.

our SLW female Has terrible lacing, even after a full adult molt at 19 months, the lacing is terrible. We have GLW from another hatchery and the lacing is much better. lacing is one of the hardest attributes to get right I’ve heard, so if yours ends up looking like the picture, that will be great.

Hatchery birds will not look like the birds in the Standard book, no. Hatchery's do not breed to standard.
