I beg to differ. I read it (in one sitting). It could have been written by a ten year old. The writer has no style, no verve. Dull dull dull.

The movie was worse. Then again, movies usually are.

I agree, I am an avid reader and its killing me to get through the first book. The writer doesn't have a flair for writing the words are there they just don't come alive. The story Idea is not a bad one it just needs a better writer.

I don't know if its the fact that I am a teenager or what, but I don't pay attention to writing style. I am in it for the entertainment and IMO I thought it was done very well.

I love Scott Westerfeld. He has action and a great writing style. Read one his books.

My kudos and praise to any teenager choosing to read - PERIOD - It doesn't really matter if the author is good or bad. A person who can enjoy a book, good or bad, has the ability to amuse themselves. I am exposed to a lot of teenagers and very few of them read unless they're forced to. The eternal teenage complaint of "i'm bored" would cease to exist!!!!

P.S.... Some people think chihuahuas are evil and ankle-biters but their NOT! They are sooo sweet!! (Unless you mistreat them...)
