Anyway to deter chickens from a spot when free-ranging?

This may be a dumb question, so please bear with me. We are free-ranging our chickens, which is working out great. However my husband as a lean-to, and the chickens are hanging out in there all the time and making a mess. He obviously doesn't want them in there. Is there anything to put on the ends or right inside that the chickens will not want to go near????

Thanks in advance!

Short chicken wire perimeter might work or you could always use electro-plastic netting like premier one's. A 5 year old child with a broom is also a useful deterrant. We live on the edge of a cedar swamp and as much as the chickens love exploring it, we don't want them in there. Repeated chasing them out has given them the idea that they need to stay on the lawn and in the white pines (no underbrush) but it's not 100% fool proof. Occasionally one tries to sneak into the woods. But, since we have hawks, eagles, coyotes and raccoons, we're always out with our birds anyway.
