Anyway to tell if it was a Fox or coyote??

Well I used to have my chickens free range but I had too many problems letting them free range I had a fox attack twice then the hawks started to attack and so I just gave up and now they don’t free range that often but they’re run is very large. So the way the fox killed our chickens was he’d kill one and bring it to the woods then he’d come back and get another and do the same until he had killed about 6 of them, it was like he was stocking up on chicken. But for a coyote i don’t know how they
Interesting, so a fox will kill many and just store them for later.
I am not familiar with how they hunt.
I am trying to figure out how best to deal with the threat, however it’s nice to know what I am dealing with before.
I have a game cam I am going to set up in the next few days. They are not free ranging for awhile.

I had the same thing happen with a fox during the day. It dug under one of the gates to my pens and would kill one bird and drag it out then go in and kill another bird and drag it out and on and on. I caught the fox and put concrete under my gates.

Ok, not sure why pic never showed up but here it is again.

I'm going with fox because I don't think donkeys are a threat to them like coyotes. Did you say the donkeys are near your area or is there a border somewhere to seperate?

Yes, the donkeys are in the same pasture as My hens.
In fact the donkeys sleep right next to the door to the coop.

Ok, so they don’t kill all at once.
They kill, take away and then come back over and over again?

Do coyotes kill in the same way?
Or even bobcats?
I had a coyote go over a 5 foot fence. When it did, some of the birds also went over the fence and the coyote went back over and was chasing them around the yard in the daytime. I did get a shot off but was unlucky because I had bird shot in the gun as I had been hunting squirrels. I'm sure I hit the coyote as it abandoned it's chase but with bird shot only wounded it probably. It killed 3 birds and wounded another that died the next day. The bobcat was a nighttime deal. It killed 14 birds. That is why I put electric wire around my coops and pens. It dug under a fence. I put leg traps out for it . It didn't come back the next night but did come back the following night. I put leg traps out for the fox that dug under the gate to one of my pens. I tried a live trap and covered it and had branches on it. I put a game camera up but it wouldn't go in it. It went around it and did sniff and dig next to it but wouldn't go in it. I think I might be able to find the video and get some frames from it.
