Im sorry new here- it was suppose to say is I thought I saw on here somewhere where they have a sale each Saturday and chickens are sold outside by owners looking to get rid of some of their chickens.

Tim and Suzie hen house in Scottsville KY was having chicken swaps. I think the last one was last week though. I don't think they are having any more till spring. What type of chickens are you looking for?

Not sure yet on the chickens. Main focus is kid friendly and good egg layers

You might look for Orpingtons, or Australorps. They lay fairly well, but do awesome with the kids. Our birds that are the friendliest with our kids (12, 3, 1) are the Jersey Giants. They don't lay quite as well as the other two though. Marans are usually pretty well tempered too, but not the best layers. If you don't find anything else PM me, I can meet you in Etown and fix you up with some 6 weekers. Chickens and kids are the best.
