Hi, my name is Colin Fly and I'm a reporter with the Associated Press based in Milwaukee.

I'm working on a story about backyard chicken enthusiasts, especially those who have chickens for the "pet aspect."

I need a few people across the country to talk to me for a few minutes about why they love their birds and funny stories about them.

I really need people located in cities vs. rural areas, especially cities where you need permits, etc, to have poultry in the backyard.

For me to use your comments, I'll need your full name, age, location and other occupation.

Please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] if you'd like to talk chickens.

I'm perfectly willing to talk to you and send you pictures, but I'm in the UK so I don't know if you'd want me for your article.

Edit: I have two pet hens, and live on the outskirts of a city of 400,000. I didn't require a permit.

Name: Helena (will give surname via email if you want to use my comments)
    Location: Bristol, UK
Age: 15 (the chickens are mine rather than the family's too, so if you want to do a kids with pet chickens slant then that's another possibility.
Occupation: unsurprisingly, I go to school!

    My email is [email protected]
