Who knows? I'd just be careful if you are expecting pure breeds from him. You could always ask him next time.Ok. Gotcha. Maybe I am wrong, he could be getting them from other hatcheries.

I mean, I guess it is fine, because our birds are just for eggs and pets, but if I was buying breeding stock he would be in big troubleWho knows? I'd just be careful if you are expecting pure breeds from him. You could always ask him next time.
Brown leghorns have a dark v shaped stripe that begins on top of the head and goes down the back like the chick on the left.It doesn't break or have splotches .Yours is a mixHey yall, so back in June I got this chick. The breeder told me she was a brown leghorn.
And I trusted him, because as a chick, she looked exactly like a brown leghorn chick!
However, one day I posted a pic of her on The Moonshiner's Leghorn thread. And on there, they said that she is not a brown leghorn!
They said to watch and see if her earlobes would turn white and that would confirm if she was a brown leghorn.
Welp, her earlobes never did turn white, and now looking at pictures online, just based on her light plumage color I can say that the breeder scammed us with a mixed breed! Or idk, maybe two of his birds snuck out of the run and you-know-what when the hatchery guy didn't know. You would think he would keep his breeds separate.
The breeder is very reputable and in 2020 we got 8 lovely birds from him! They were all what he said they were.
I am kind of sad that she isn't a brown leghorn, but we love Myrtle regardless! The past 2 days, she laid her first eggs! They are a cream color. I think there is a possibility that Myrtle is a brown leghorn mix. But what do you guys think, what could she be a mix of? She does look a bit like a welsummer. But idk!
Thanks in advance!!

Breeds they offer (she is probably a mix of 2 of these. They do offer more breeds.)
