So ive got some apple cider vinegar and pentavite infants multi vitamins without iron for my chickens water and I was wondering can you add them both to the water at once? Or should I alternate when I change the water? Also I have some medicated chick starter for my silkie chicks that are due to hatch in two weeks and when they hatch theyll live in the coop with the hens and rooster. Does it matter if the hens and rooster eat some of the medicated feed? They have their own hanging feeder that chicks cant reach but with my last lot of chicks I had unmedicated food and the hens would eat a little every now and then. Can you get feeders online anywhere that only chicks can use, ie with small holes etc?
Thanks :)

Hi there!

(Love you avatar!:))

Alternte between the ACV and vitamins when you change the water. Have all the chickens (including adults) eat the chick feed. Do not provide adult feed where the chicks can get to it as it will damage their inner organs.

Here's a links of mine that explains about feeding.

Thanks very much!! It's one of my little silkie chicks! Thanks for your advice! The adult food is hanging so no way the chicks can ever get it. On the package of the medicated feed it says do not feed to hens producing fertile eggs. Mine do as I have a rooster but none of those eggs will be hatched anytime soon as I've got two on eggs at the moment. Does it say that though because the bacteria could build up a resistance to it if feed it to adults who lay eggs that are then hatched? I've heard somewhere that the medicated feed can also be harmful but I don't know if that's accurate or not?
Thanks!
