Apple cider vinegar

Raw ACV provides some benefits from the microorganisms. If nothing else, it is a probiotic. But the plain stuff won't jurt them.

Once you have your jar of vinegar, you can make more from part of your supply. Google for directions.
 
I recommend any ACV that is labeled "with the Mother." I use BRAGG Organic, Raw, Non Paturized, Unfiltered. You can find it at Safeway, Whole Foods, New Seasons, Yokes, Fred Meyer, and online. (Probably other places as well.)

I have been very surprised at how quickly it revives ill birds, especially with my quail. I've syringe fed it (diluted in a glass of water) to sick chickens with great results also.
 
But will plain off the shelf at a regular grocery store work or do I have to use raw?
