Apple sauce

I see chocks love apple sauce. Does it need to be homemade or can it be the stuff in a jar. My concern is the jars have presumably got added sugar etc.

New chickens and trying to make friends by giving a little treat in the afternoon but nothing grabbing them yet!

you can just buy 3rd grade ("deer") apples and grind them. Cheaper, healthier.
