Hello everyone! A while ago I found 2 broody seramas sat on 3 eggs, candled all of them and they all seemed to be fertile. I don't know how long they were sat on them, but 1 has hatched just yesterday and seems to be healthy. The other 2 haven't shown any signs of external or internal pipping. I haven't heard any chirps from either of them, and when I tried the water method there was a tiny wiggle in one of the eggs. I don't know if I should be concerned, but I'm quite new to hatching, so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. :fl (Also, if needed, I can send candling photos) Thank you!! :frow

Hi,

When more than one hen sits on eggs, there can always be trouble. Yours must've worked out.

If some eggs hatch and some didn't, I always give them a couple more days. If the mother leaves her eggs to take the chicks to food/water, I'd either put those eggs in the incubator or fix a sideways box on the floor of the coop with her nest and her eggs in it. Nearby have a feeder with chick crumbles and water. She'll most likely come back to sit on them.

If after a couple of days, I'd candle the eggs. You'd see some sort of movement if they are alive.

So what did you wind up with?
