Last yr I purchased Standard Silver Appleyards from Holderread. This season when I began hatching a few eggs everyone was wanting appleyard calls not the standard size. Holderread sells Mini Silver Appleyards, but doesn't classify them as calls.
Are there appleyard calls or are these mini's that people refer to as calls do to similar size?
Should there head be a nice solid green similar to a mallard or is it often smudged with white markings? (local guy says he has some, female looks like my appleyard, but the drakes head is ugly IMO)

Coloring exactly like the standard Silver Appleyard large breed of duck, but in Call Duck form!! Not a lot of this variety to be found in the U.S. Not to be confused with the Bantam Silver Appleyard, which is a bit larger bird in body type.
