I don't have a pond either. I have a kiddie pool and big place for them to wander and make a mess. LOL

I wish I had set up the video camera and captured the movement. That one egg was the most active.

I am on day 20 with the duck eggs. Of the first 8 eggs 3 started developing right off. I did not take the nondeveloping eggs out and was watching one that looked very iffy but as if it was just a very slow start.

Mothergoose very kindly sent me another 12 eggs because so many of the first did nothing.

Of the 12 I have 4 starting to show veins.

Of the 8 that are so far doing nothing -

2 have floating air cells that haven't settled and are clear.
1 is a giant double yolker and it is clear.
5 are clear and show no signs of anything wrong in the egg other than no embryo is developing.

They second set of eggs went in on May 1st.
They are due May 28th.

The first set are due this time next week - May 14th.

I went up to check humidity and get ready to move the duck eggs this morning. I reached in to turn a duck egg and I felt a pip! I am suddenly so very nervous!
