Update on brooding ducks. Candled the eggs and 7 of 8 shows signs of activity. They should hatch around the 27 or 28th and the other nest should hatch around the first or second of July. I have also placed six eggs in an incubator to experiment with hatching.

I am going to divide the Quack House in half, so the chicks, along with the adult, will have a 4' x 8' space for a few weeks.

Question: Can I place the two ducks with their ducklings in the same enclosure or will it cause trouble?

That would trouble here. I’d give each mom their own privacy with their ducklings for at least we’ll I’ll let you decide I have 2 going on 4 weeks this Wed and they are still sleeping in separate quarters inside the coop. Makes me feel better since I have drakes.

So, after they hatch, I would move them to separate quarters. How large of an area? Would 4x4 be large enough?
