Hi everyone, I’ve kept chickens for many years and I’m fairly ok with what I’m doing with them when they’re hatching and growing. I live next door to my parents and I’ve finally manage to persuade them after 25+ years to get a wee flock of ducks. We settled on Cayuga and had them shipped. I’ve got 5 which have been hand turned 5 times a day in a still air Janoel 10 incubator and another 6 in an Rcom 10 Pro Plus which are 10 days behind them.
The ones in my Janoel are day 23 (starting at day 0) but when I candles them there is a wee shadow moving in the air sacs of a few. I noticed this last night and kept an eye on them today. There’s been no external pipping but should I keep turning them for another 2 days or do I start lockdown early as they’re moving about? Just looking for a bit of advice and have my fingers crossed that I might get a few hatched alive and well. Thank you in advance!
